Davido’s Biography, Songs, Children, Parents and More

David Adedeji Adeleke who is well known by his stage name as Davido AKA O.B.O, is a singer from Nigeria, a record producer, and songwriter. Though the singer is from Nigeria, he was born in Atlanta but was raised in a place in Nigeria called Lagos.

Davido was born on November 21, 1992, and he studied at Oakwood University (business administration), before he kicked of record vocal references and making beats. He started his music career as a member of a music band group called KB International. Ever since the singer entered into the Nigerian music industry until now, he has released quite a number of songs and album.

Davido’s Parents & Life

Davido’s parents are Adedeji and Vero Adeleke and they are both from Nigeria. Mr. Adedeji Adeleke, Davido’s father is a prominent Nigerian businessman, and he attended British International School which is located in Lagos state. Before Davido relocated to Nigeria, he studied Oakwood University, where he started to develop an interest for music. While at Oakwood University, the singer created beats and recording vocal references, with the instruments that he bought, while in school.

The singers love for music took his attention away from studies which resulted to bad grades and finally led the singer to drop out of Oakwood University and finally relocated to London where the singer paid more attention to singing than the production of music. The singer finally came back to Nigeria in 2011, where he got enrolled in Babcock University in order to honor his father, this discission sidelined his music career. The singer’s father erects a music department in Babcock university for an inaugural class of one.

Davido’s Children

The singer happens to have two children from different baby mama and the name of the first daughter of Davido is called ‘Aurora Imade Adeleke’ by Sophia. The second daughter of Davido is called Hailey Veronica Adeleke, whose mothers name is Amanda and she resided in Atlanta.

Davido’s music career and songs

While Davido was still in Babcock University, the singer started to release some songs including his first album titled O.B.O which means Omo Baba Olowo (Son of a wealthy person) in the Yoruba language. The album was actually a self-produced album, though the singer got some assistance from producers like GospelOnDeBeatz, Maleek Berry, Dokta Frabz, Spellz, Jay Sleek, Mr. Chidoo, Shizzi, and Theory Soundz.

Baddes Album

After the release of his first album, in early 2013, the singer started to prepare for his second studio album. In the month of February, the singer released the lead single off his then much-anticipated album and the titled of the lead song from his baddest album was tagged Gobe which was produced by Shizzi.

Davido’s Fame

Davido began to be famous at an early stage of his musical career way back in 2011 after the release of his first album titled Omo Baba Olowo (OBO) which won him The Headies Award for Next Rated. The singer has also been winning many other awards which include the MOBO Awards as the African best act and was the first African act to actually be the first to perform live during the award.

The singer further got more recognized internationally after he was awarded the BET Awards, which was presented to the singer by Hollywood actress Tika Sumpter and Hollywood actor Omari Hardwick.

Davido’s Endorsements

We will be listing some of the endorsements that the singer has signed and one of the prominent which was actually the first was on April 6, 2012, the singer was reported to have signed an endorsement deal with MTN worth ₦30 million. The endorsement brought the singer as the face of MTN Pulse, which was used by the Nigeria Network providers, MTN to run a marketing campaign for youths in Nigerian.

The following year, October 24, 2013, the superstar signed another endorsement deal with Guinness Nigeria, in which as part of the deal, the singer performed alongside with other Nigerian singers like Wizkid, P-Square, Ice Prince, D’banj, Olamide, Phyno, Burna Boy, Chidinma, Tiwa Savage and Waje at the  Guinness World of More Concert. Fast forward to 2018, Davido signed an endorsement deal with one of the smartphone makers in Nigeria, Infinix, though the endorsement fee was not undisclosed.
